LITTORAL ET CAMPAGNE: LE NORD PAS DE CALAIS VERSION VERTE COASTAL AND COUNTRY AREA NORD PAS DE CALAIS IN ITS GREEN VERSION.

From the Belgian border to the bay of Authie, beaches stretch between sea and rand dunes along 140 km. The 20 sea resorts or so have done nothing against the preservation of this exceptional site. Inside the dune massifs as well as the estuaries of the numerous small coastal streams, defense of the environment is totally compatible with the publics expectations and eagerness for walks, nature and fine Band. And there stands the National Site of the Caps Gris Nez and Blanc Nez. The first cliffs aliter Denmark as you tome from the North, near to the Channe) Tunnel works, and halfway between Calais and Boulogne, this site is a symbol of space and freedom for men as well as birds.
The Caps site hinterland is the Boulonnais, part of the regional natural parc Nord Pas de Calais, which also extends over the Audomarois, around St Orner, a )and of marshes and chalky hillsides, to the Scarpe and Escaut plain, east from Lille, which the forent surrounding St Amand les Eaux overlooks.

The pasture lands and copses of the Boulonnais provide wanderers with hedges and green nooks, as in the Canche and Authie countries, with the flower decked valleys a little more to the south behind Le Touquet Other green stops: inner Flanders, with mountains (Mont Casse), Mont des Cats, Mont Noir...)lined up in front of the sea plain, and Artois, with the departments leasure and nature park of Olhain.
Two hours away: Avesnois, and the Ardennes foot hills already. Large forests, untouched bocage country, a barrier lake in Val Joly, especially suited to nature and leisure activities... from one gently doping hill to another, Avesnois surrenders to discovery. The imprints of tradition are never faraway.
