AUVERGNE,
A FANTASIC SYMPHONY
A fantastic symphony... Allier, Cantal, Haute Loire, Puy
de Dôme: four movements, Allegro for Auvergne!
The royal History of France lelt the beautiful manors and castles
on the skirts of gigantic forests, as rich alluvium on the
Banks of the rivers Allier and Cher.
Beyond
them soar the Puy de Dôme volcanoes in an chain
that reaches to the Sancy mountains that give birth to the
Dordogne region. Fortified castles and romanesque churches
keep watch from this peak on the crater lakes. The powerful
Cantal massif yields its high lands along the length of an
immense pyramid. Its flanks are ridge with long valleys. Deep
with greenery beneath the sun, they turn into vast white expanses
beneath the snow.
The Haute
Loire region, crossed by medieval migrations and grooved
by young
and tumultuous rivers = the Loire and the
Allier sealed in by abbeys and castles, lights and shades on
the Forez and Mézenc mounts, stands on the borders of
this vast amphitheatre.
Follow a river bed, cane down a torrent, wander, ride, dominate
the vide expanses, in total freedom.
AUVERGNE, A QUALITY ENVIRONMENT
Water traces its history in the company of Man, who draws his
vitality from it. Out of this land of fire, he has created
a cool well of freshness offered to leisure.

The Ancient Romans knew its virtues.

geographical and climatic conditions, land of lakes and volcanoes,
offers a great richness of waters lakes, hot springs, cold
springs, with varied mineralities.
